Katiedid Mysteries Presents A Superbowl Mystery:
"Squares the Center?"

©2011 By Diane Designs

Printer-friendly version (pdf).

Project size 61" x 61"

For Superbowl Sunday, February 6, join us at Planet Patchwork for a one-day mystery quilt from Diane Hundley, the designer of Planet Patchwork's amazing star-studded blocks of the month. We will begin the proceedings at 10:00 a.m. EST on Sunday and post installments hourly. Links to the installments will be posted at the bottom of this page, and at the bottom of the previous installment.

There will be a total of six installments (including this fabric and cutting installment), with the last one posted at 2:00 p.m. eastern time. Chat with Diane online and register for hourly door prizes. These mysteries are especially fun to do in groups, so gather your friends and fire up your computer and your sewing machine and join us for a companionable day of sewing and talk. Instructions for entering the drawings for our door prizes are published in our newsletter, which will be sent out a couple of times before the mystery. To subscribe to the newsletter, go here.

You will find the design to be mysterious indeed, as the seemingly simple pieces come together in unexpected ways to make a dramatic statement at the end.

Katiedid Mysteries quilts are provided to you for a limited time online by Planet Patchwork. They are for individual, personal use only, and may not be reproduced and/or “shared” in any way without permission. For guilds who wish to use them as a series in their newsletter, or for one-day workshops, please contact us and request a copy of our “Guidelines for Guilds”. Our e-mail address is bydiane@gmail.com. Many thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Please read all instructions before beginning. Try to be as accurate as possible. All dimensions given include 1/4" seam allowances, unless otherwise noted. Drawings are not to scale.

SPECIAL THANKS to my testers of this mystery – Karen, Kate, Angie

PART 1
*** NOTE **** Fabric yardage given is generous amounts.

Quilt Notes - You should choose fabrics that coordinate well together, but beyond that, the sky's the limit! The quilt will look great in anything but directional prints. I would recommend you use crisp bright clear fabrics. Let each color stand on its own and not blend into the other fabrics chosen.
