Part 4  – Sparkling Gems



1.    Sew one 3 7/8" half square triangle (HST) Fabric B and one 3 7/8" half square triangle (HST) Fabric A together.  See diagram 25 for placement.  Press and label Unit 10.  Repeat thirty one (31) more times for a total of thirty two (32) Unit 10's.  Measurement check Unit should measure 3 1/2" square

2.    Sew one 3 7/8" half square triangle (HST) Fabric F and one 3 7/8" half square triangle (HST) Fabric E together.  See diagram 26 for placement.  Press and label Unit 11.  Repeat seven (7) more times for a total of eight (8) Unit 11's.  Measurement check Unit should measure 3 1/2" square.



3.    Sew one 3 7/8" half square triangle (HST) Fabric F and one 3 7/8" half square triangle (HST) Fabric D together.  See diagram 27 for placement.  Press and label Unit 12.  Repeat seven (7) more times for a total of eight (8) Unit 12's.  Measurement check Unit should measure 3 1/2" square.



4.    Sew the following units together to create Row 1: 3 1/2" square Fabric A, Unit 10, Unit 10, 3 1/2" square Fabric A.  See diagram 28 for placement.  Press and label Row 1.  Measurement check Unit should measure 3 1/2" x 12 1/2".



5.    Sew the following units together to create Row 2: Unit 10, Unit 11, Unit 12, Unit 10.  See diagram 29 for placement.  Press and label Row 2.  Measurement check Unit should measure 3 1/2" x 12 1/2".



6.    Sew the following units together to create Row 3: Unit 10, Unit 12, Unit 11, Unit 10.  See diagram 30  for placement.  Press and label Row 3.  Measurement check Unit should measure 3 1/2" x 12 1/2".



7.    Sew the following units together to create Row 4: 3 1/2" square Fabric A, Unit 10, Unit 10, 3 1/2" square Fabric A.  See diagram 31 for placement.  Press and label Row 4.  Measurement check Unit should measure 3 1/2" x 12 1/2".



8.    Sew rows together as shown in diagram 32.  Measurement check Unit should measure 12 1/2" x 12 1/2".

9.    Repeat steps 4 thru 8 three more times for a total of four (4) Sparkling Gems blocks.
