Near Kildare, we paid a visit to the Irish National Stud. We were most anxious to meet him!
The Irish government maintains a racehorse stud farm to produce prime racing stock, using the best available stallions and mares from around the world.
We were able to observe a new foal born just the night before, as it gathered its legs under it and began its life:
The Irish National Stud also featured a very fine Japanese Garden on the premises, which was a welcome refuge for many of us who sought a few moments of peaceful contemplation after long hours in a bus.
