The Rock of Cashel

We spent a second night in Cork after returning from the Ring of Kerry, and on the next day began our return to Dublin by a more inland route. Along this route was the town of Cashel, where there is a famous historic rock upon which both ancient kings and the early church built stone structures.

After our tour of the ruins, Decatur High students had an opportunity to scatter themselves among the rocks at the site.

Lauren Gunderson also had a romp through the wildflowers at the foot of the hill.
