Welcome to Planet Patchwork's
2012 Block of the Month, "Silent Shimmer," by Diane Hundley.
Planet Patchwork and Diane Hundley are proud to present our 2012 Block-of-the- Month, Silent Shimmer. This is our 11th BOM, and we appreciate your support of these special quilts. Instructions will be posted for one block each month, and border, binding and finishing instructions will be published in the month following the last block. Just as before you are not tied to one colorway but are free to choose your fabrics and let you imagination run wild. It will be interesting to see what you come up with. The finished size of this quilt will be about 49" x 61". Yardage is figured using 44" wide fabric and cutting borders from selvedge to selvedge. If you choose to make one long piece for the borders you will need more fabric. Below is a list of yardage needed to complete your quilt top (main quilt and borders). As always yardage is figured at approximately 10 percent more than actually needed. To make the quilt top only: (A) Background Black 3 1/8 yards (B) Green 1/2 yard (C) Red 1/2 yard (D) Yellow 5/8 yards (E) Purple 1/2 yard (F) Blue 1/2 yard Borders Black Inner & Outer Pieced borders 1 yard Inner & Outer un-pieced borders 1 7/8 yard Middle Pieced Border - 1 yard Middle - Un-pieced border - 1 ½ yards Border Corner Blocks Purple - 1/8 yard Red 1/8 yard Black - 1/8 yard Green - 1/8 yard Binding 3/4 yard
