“Oh My Stars” Finishing Instructions November 2011 Assembly of the Quilt Top Half of Quilt 1. Sew Section 9 (July) to Section 4 (February). See diagram 1 for placement. ![]() 2. Sew Section 5 (January) to the section just sewn in Step 1. See diagram 2 for placement. Press and set aside. ![]() 3. Sew Section 7 (May) to Section 6 (April). See diagram 3 for placement. ![]() 4. Sew the Section just sewn in Step 3 to the completed Section from Step 2. See diagram 4 for placement. Press and set aside. ![]() 5. Sew Section 1 (November) to Section 12 (October). See diagram 5 for placement. ![]() 6. Sew the Section sewn in Step 5 to the Section sewn in Step 4 together as shown in Diagram 6. Press and set aside. ![]() Assembly of the Quilt Bottom Half of Quilt 1. Sew Section 10 (August) to Section 5 (March) as shown in Diagram 7. Press and set aside. ![]() 2. Sew Section 2 ( December) to Section 8 (June) as shown in Diagram 8. Press and set aside. ![]() 3. Sew the Sections sewn in Steps 1 and 2 together as shown in Diagram 9. Press. ![]() 4. Sew Section 11 (September) to the Section just sewn in Step 3. See diagram 10 for placement. Press. ![]() 5. Referring to Diagram 11 sew the top and bottom quilt halves together. Press and set aside. ![]() 6. Measure your pieced center. It should measure 54 1/2" x 66 1/2". Finishing Instructions Corner Triangle Blocks – (Make four 6" block) & Border Strips (A) Black Cut 2 squares 6 7/8" cut once diagonally Cut 6 strips 4 1/2" x WOF (F) Blue Cut 2 squares 6 7/8" cut once diagonally Cut 6 strips 2 1/2" x WOF 1. With RST sew one (1) Black (A) half square triangle to one (1) Blue (F) half square triangle. Repeat 3 more times for a total of 4. See diagram 12 for placement. Press and set aside. These are the corner blocks for border. ![]() 2. Sew the Black (A) strips together to form one long piece. 3. Sew the Blue (F) strips together to form one lone piece. 4. Sew the Black (A) and Blue (F) strips together. Press with the seam facing the Black (A). See diagram 13. ![]() 5. Carefully measure and cut 2 pieces 6 1/2" x 66 1/2". (Border pieces for right and left sides of the quilt) 6. Carefully measure and cut 2 pieces 6 1/2" x 54 1/2". (Border pieces for top and bottom of the quilt) 7. Now your borders are cut sew one (1) Corner Triangle to each end of the top and bottom borders. See Diagram 14 for placement. Press. ![]() Adding the borders to your quilt top 1. Sew the long border pieces to the right and left side of the quilt top. 2. Now sew the top and bottom borders to the quilt. 3. Press and your quilt top is complete. 4.
